The foundation is laid and now its time to add the stonework. Again there is a level to maintain - the driveway must connect seamlessly to the roadway.

Here Rick is checking the foundation depth to ensure an adequate base for the driveway. The driveway also has to connect to the garage so that there is no lip to drive over when entering. This level surface into the garage concrete pad has to remain even under extreme temperature changes and frost.
